The Ranch
Hobo ranch is owned by Harry and Barbara Oliver,
long-time residents of New Mexico.
In 2004, Harry and Barbara asked their daughter, Mary, and her
husband Dan Flitner to take over management of the ranch.
A fourth-generation rancher
from Wyoming, Dan has used his knowledge and experience to
develop a cow herd with the genetics needed to fatten on native
grassland while also remaining relatively disease free.
Dan has also been lucky enough to experience first- hand, how by
maintaining health and
biodiversity in your land and livestock you can sustain generations
of families on a ranch.
Mary, a veterinarian, is
actively involved in the health and welfare of the livestock as well
as the training of the horses that we offer for sale.
Dan and Mary have two children, Samuel and Grace, who are
also an integral part of the ranch.
They not only help with the daily operations but also serve
as a constant reminder to the future goals that we have set for the
ranch.
